We created this club to spread the hobby of Amateur Radio to those in the area, focusing on the youth. It started with myself acquiring my license in 2023 and then both of my kids and wife in 2025. Wanting to spread the information of the activity which my kids enjoy, looking for others around to world to talk.
The world today has become so connected via internet and cell phones making instant contact easy, with immediate reaction. The knowledge and understanding of radio frequency (RF) and propagation within the ionosphere add challenges and thought provoking. The ability to get on the air, send out a signal and work people around the world was able to hook my kids attention. Never knowing each CQ, calling CQ is an amateur radio term meaning “seek you” used to initiate a general call to any station, who will hear and respond.
We are working for a station which can operate multiple individuals at the same time for interacting with others and sharing the excitement. Check back as we finalize club meetings, frequency and details.
